Humayun's Tomb

This tomb, built by emperor Humayun's wife, took eight years to build. Begai Begum, wife of the emperor was buried here and is the only structure that is at the center of a well-planned garden. The combination of white marble and sandstone formed the influence of Mughal architecture that followed. Generally, it is considered as a prototype of the famous Taj Mahal in Agra.

Lotus Temple

This is a very modern architectural wonder that belongs to the Bahai faith and can be seen from many places in south Delhi. Located in Kalkaji in South Delhi, this temple was named after the way it has-that of a lotus. It is built of marble, cement, dolomite and sand.

The President's residence (Rashtrapati Bhawan)

This building was formerly the Viceroy's house, is the most notable of Lutyens' New Delhi (English architect who designed the monuments of New Delhi). Was completed in 1929 by the cost of 12, 530.00 lbs. Located in an area of 130 hectares, the palace has 340 rooms. At one time, 2,000 people were required for building maintenance and housekeeping for the family of the Viceroy. The house also has an impressive garden called the Mughal Garden, which the public can visit twice a year, usually during the months of February and March.

Tuglaqabad

The walled city and fort of Tuglaqabad along with 13 gates are located east of Qutab Minar. The third city of Delhi was built by Ghiyas-ud-din Tughlaq. Its construction resulted in a legendary dispute between Ghiyas-ud-din and the saint Nizamuddin Tuglaq when King tuglaq workers took the saint wanted to work for his altar.
